K’aaylgaay Naay – Harm reduction & Wellness services

The Haida Gwaii Society for Community Peace is proud to be a Take Home Naloxone Distribution site. This vital service provides community members with access to life-saving resources to help prevent toxic drug poisoning deaths and promote health and safety throughout Haida Gwaii.

As part of our commitment to harm reduction and wellness, we offer a variety of free supplies that are available 24/7 at our Ḵ’aaylgaay Naay location at 1576 McDonald Street, Masset. The following resources are available for anyone who needs them:

Harm Reduction Supplies:

  • Take-home naloxone kits
  • Sharp disposal containers for safe disposal of needles and other sharps
  • Pipes, filters, foils, needles, tourniquets, straws, sterile water, and fentanyl test strips to reduce harm from substance use.

Safer Sex Supplies:

  • Condoms, dental dams, and lubricants to promote sexual health and safety for all.

Period Equity Supplies:

  • Sanitary pads, tampons, and liners to ensure access to menstrual products for those in need.

The remote nature of Haida Gwaii can present challenges in accessing critical services, which is why the Haida Gwaii Society for Community Peace is committed to providing these essential supplies without cost, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We understand the importance of being accessible to all members of our diverse community, and we strive to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to their health and well-being.

If you need something that we don’t currently stock, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know. We’re here to support the community and work together to address the unique needs of Haida Gwaii. For inquiries or if you have a request for additional supplies, please contact us at 250-626-4666.

Together, we are working to create a safer, healthier, and more supportive community for everyone. Haaw’aa.
